Why does John open his Gospel with cosmic, almost philosophical language, 'in the beginning was the Word,' rather than a birth narrative or genealogy like the other Gospels?
TheologicalGenesis starting with God making the heaven and the earth in the beginning. This goes earlier by saying in the beginning was the Word. In the Greek, the word specifically was "logos." Is this a beginning of the world different from Genesis?
